| Problem
MS Word 2007
If you can't open a .doc file unless you open MSWord -> Open
-> filename.doc
Also, your cursor/mouse can't click or right-click/select anything
in the typing area, scroll bar on the right and margins but it can
interact with all the other objects in the Ribbon bar, basically,
everything but the part where you can type. But, you can use the
keyboard Ctrl+A (and it allows you to select all the text).
You've also had trouble closing MSWord properly too. Every time
you close, the message box "Microsoft Office has stopped working...."
then "....is restarting"
Furthermore, when you go into the Options, the window opens with
the list on the left "Popular, Proofing, Save, Advanced etc.).
You cannot select anything here (can't use keyboard either) on the
left bar pane so you can only access the Popular tab where you can
change most popular options like Color scheme or User name. This
only happens in MSWord but works perfectly fine in MSPowerpoint
You've tried the Repair option in Control Panel but that didn't
do anything. You updated the 2007 Office Suite using Service Pack
1 as well and that did nothing.

Fix
Start, Accessories, Run
Enter "regedit" and hit enter
Now look into:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word
Find the "Data" folder and rename it to "Old-Data"
Start Word again and the problem is fixed.
It seems its due to a change in the standard settings in the last
office update - and hence has nothing to do with drivers or vista
sp1 etc.
